I bought so much of these goodies THREE years ago with the vision for this stuff to be in our dining room! We knew we weren't staying at our last house, so I just kept it in the garage the whole time. It is time! Our house still echoes really bad, so I've been wanting to get stuff on the walls ASAP! These 4 kids are loud!
I get a lot of my shelves from Hobby Lobby! If we don't DIY them with wood and brackets, getting them there for 50% off is a great deal! I needed NARROW shelves since this area is a walk way & because I couldn't find a long narrow one, I just went with 2 side by side!

We got THESE SELVES - so for $25, I got 2!
I leave allllll this for my hubby. He makes every thing precise and level!
Setting in the anchors. We don't use the anchors or hardware these come with because they're really crappy quality! Keep that in mind if you want sturdy shelves!
If you don't look like this on a Saturday at home, you let me know why! hahahahaha The camera was on the table & I heard my 5 year old take a photo & I assumed it was of nothing since it was still sitting on the table. Yes, I look gross but it's real life. Sweet boy was just taking a picture of his mama!
As you can see, I rearranged it a ton! This was a starting point!

Then I started messing with it! Final picture is at the bottom!
It's crazy how tiny it looks here, but in person it fills up the space so nice!
1 - Cotton in Vase
2 - Rust Vase
3 - I JUST LOVE CARBS sign
The rest of the items were found at vintage shops, Target dollar spot or TJ Maxx!
AND YES, I'm the queen of unfilled frames! Give me ideas on what type of photo I should put up there!
HERE is the finished project! I hung the little carb sign up to move it up a bit! That garland is up for Christmas!
I added these little touches for Christmas! I love using kid projects the make around the house!
I'm currently looking at behind-the-couch tables to go under it because they're super narrow! Let's be real... I have the one I picked out..buuuut budgets.....
I love how that shelf turned out! I always struggle with what kind of pictures to use in dining and kitchen areas. Maybe just frame some cute scrap booking paper-I'm doing that for staging (b/c faces of strangers is weird in a vacant house for sale) and found a really pretty light pink rose floral on black with gold accents-to go in a gold frame that will sit on a similar type of shelf. Or...take a cute picture of one (some) of the kids helping in the kitchen. Like maybe at the sink doing dishes or helping cook dinner, something super candid and in black and white.
